Cookit

Cook it! is a programme which teaches healthy eating and allows participants to enhance their cooking skills. The course, which was produced by the Health Promotion Agency specially for use in Northern Ireland, lasts for six sessions and covers basic principles of healthy eating, food hygiene at home and practical cooking.

A team comprising of Dietitian, Development Officer and Admin Assistant is employed to train and support tutors who are recruited from community groups and voluntary organisations and who then deliver the Cook it! course.

The Cook it! project has been funded by the Big Lottery under 'Coronary Heart Disease, Stroke and Cancer' and is based in the Western Health Action Zone office in Strabane.
